Raven's Feather

This small, black feather with soft, downy barbs seems to gently tremble, exuding the scent of cold rain and damp earth, when held aloft before a storm.

Keywords: Magic

Crafting: Cannot be crafted.

Awakened: While you possess this feather, you can temporarily become airborne, moving as high as 3 squares above the ground from where you started. If you end your turn while you are still airborne, you fall. If you already have the ability to fly, you instead gain the following benefit: when you fall, you can reduce the effective height of that fall by 2.

Transformed: You can fly, and you no longer need to end your turn on the ground to prevent falling. If you already have the ability to fly from some other source, you instead gain the following benefit: whenever you fall, you can unfurl your wings (no action required), slowing your fall and allowing you to glide. While gliding this way, you move downward at 1 square per round, and you can glide up to 6 squares horizontally as a free maneuver once during each of your turns.

A hero seeking freedom begins the campaign with a raven's feather, a small, black feather with soft, downy barbs. When held aloft before a storm, the feather seems to gently tremble, exuding the scent of cold rain and damp earth. The hero who possesses the raven's feather should have strong, vivid reasons to believe that the feather will always guide them to those who need liberation.

Unbeknownst to the hero, the feather once belonged to the roc of Mount Ghakis, a servant of the goddess known as the Seeker, whose Mountain Fane rests in the shadow of Mount Ghakis in Barovia. The roc once enjoyed disguising itself as a common raven, and shed this feather on one such occasion.
